Some "Redneck" Culture

As telling my friend I would be spending my spring break in West Virginia, he immediatly stated that I should have a blast with all the rednecks I meet. So hanging with my redneck friends, I took some pictures of the sites, the things, and the odd things I saw. My favorite picture was of a sign (above) outside by a store in the square of downtown Virginia. "You Are Beautiful!" <-- I'll come back to this in another post...

{What is Gourmet Popcorn? Popcorn is popcorn; it only changing depending on how much butter you put on top, I thought...}

{This is an illustration of an old Vogue cover. I found it in a cute print shop and I'm sorry that you can't see the date on this one.}

{A stand covered in cheap sun-glasses (note: there were three other tables of this!), I was in heaven!}

{A set-up of nice (note: extremly fake, remember when it says 100% cashmere and feels like polyester) scarves, pashminas, etc..}

{A sad, homeless old man humming on his harmonica on a street curb... he was actually pretty good.}

{You know... just another "Celebration of the Book" where a cute old fashioned movie theater should be....}

{Some college instrumentalists, they were very good musicians. They had a big hat... har-har.}

Boho Skirts: Yay or No-way?

Searching in H&M yesterday I realized that although bohemian, flowy-blowy skirts are in- they look really awful on the racks! Maybe if your a supermodel with a crew of stylists and designers running around you trying to make you look good for the shoot, you can pull it off. But if your an average person... it's going to take a lot of effort to pull this off.

The Variety Show

{Creepy. Beautiful. Scary. Talented. Glamorous. = Bryce Dallas Howard}

The L.A. native kicked off her acting career doing creepy and dark movies (one which still gives me with nightmares after watching it almost four years ago) such as The Village (2004) and The Lady in the Water (2006). Then (hopefully realizing how amazing she was at being scary and disturbing) she decided to re-invent herself, thus landing the role for blonde model Gwen Stacy in Spider Man 3 (2007). Then this has no importance but she was in Terminator (2009) and will star as Hilly Holbrook in 2011's spin off from the book The Help. From her changes from scary to sexy..... she looked a little bit like this.
Bryce Dallas Howard is actually very pretty and a major icon (now starring in Kate Spade's spring ad campaign). Here are some photos and clips of her throughout her acting years...... and looks.

(OH! By the way- she also plays Victoria in the Twilight series!)

And These Are A Few of My Favorite Things...

{OPI's Sparkle-icious from the Burlesque collection}

Spring break! Whoo hoo! And what better way to start then by painting my nails in my favorite nail polish (although it chips very easily, which is a major downer), smack on my favorite lip gloss, curl up with my English book (which I need to catch up on), watch my favorite TV show, and buy the pair of shoes that I desperately want!

{NARS Hot Wired, pot of lip gloss}

{Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle- reading for English class}

{The Office, seasons two, three, and seven- recently bought seasons two and three (could not find the first season) and have been currently watching season seven on TV and online}

{And the one thing that I want very badly right now. These are five dollars at Forever 21. The simplistic looking Keds spin-off come in about five different spring colors and designs. Note: the angle looking at the show makes it look very boxy and large but in actuality they are very cute and summer-y.}

Anna Wintour Did Good

574 pages! 574 pages of pure fashion, color and ADVERTISING! Of all the magazines that could have come out this March, Vogue had to be the biggest and best. That means my room has been converted into a colorful arts-and-crafts room with scissors and pictures and cut outs spilling every where. Honestly- it's dangerous to walk around in here without being poked by scissors or being stuck by mass amounts of Scotch tape. (Haha- just put the link to the Scotch tape website.........)
Anyways- March two-thouasand-eleven's (by the way- I've gotten a few bar/bat mitzvah invites lately and I don't understand why the host always writes out 2011 in the invites. I just think it's so unnessacary; yes, I understand that it's in 2011, you don't need to spell it out) Vogue issue featuring a pink wig wearing Lady GaGa on the cover, was a colorful advertisement for Spring Fashion. (Plus, a new feature of the new Juicy Couture ad campaign came out!!!)
As seeing the HUGE magazine, my dad instantly said, "Now that's a sign that the recession isn't so bad anymore." So that's a little finacial forecast along with your daily dose of fashion. But anyway.... I'm just going to add a few random photos from the issue. Plus Lady GaGa's hair raising (but wait, where'd all her hair go?!) outfits.
